SIX UNDERPRIVILEGED GIRLS EXPERIENCE " HARD WORK PAYS"
Late Mrs. Sudha Sarronwala believed that toppers and brilliant ones get recognized any ways. She wondered "How about rewarding underprivileged Girls who strive hard to make life better". To fulfill her wish SENIORSFOR CHANGE .ORG designed a program to institute a Sudha Scholarship in her name. Members of 'Senior Citizens Bangalore', a benevolent Society registered in 2002 and Principal / Teachers indentified four current students and two ex-students (One enrolled for PhD in Economics and the other in Engineering) for this scholarship payments.

Its time to proudly celebrate. Two girls who under the scholarship of the SCB have successfully completed their Degree in Cardiac Care Technology( Allied Health Science) from Sri Jaydeva Institute of Cardiovascular Sciences & Research.
Ms. Sushmita G A & Ms Yamuna S have come out with flying colours, with first and second ranks respectively.
These determined students have done their best throughout the course which was of 4 years (7 semester + 1 semester of internship) and are all equipped to cater and serve the patients.

On 19th January 2020, DELL had organized a sports Olympiad in Bangalore. Many schools were invited . Government Girls High School, Hosakote was also invited. From this school 16 girls in Football team, 12 girls in Throw ball Team and 10 girls in Athletics participated in 8 events.
This school got Gold in all the events and all girls came back with GOLD Medals and THREE trophies.

6th Sept 2019 - an in-principle decision has been taken by SCB to provide E-Learning solution to partly overcome the problem of perpetual shortage of teachers.
It was decided to install two Interactive whiteboard and supporting computing device / hardware to HELP STUDENTS LEARN.
Mr. Neelkantappa, the Principal and other teachers were extremely glad that along with the equipment all the Educational content catering to CBSE syllabi would come preloaded. The Computer Teacher even promised help to SCB specialists while Training the Teachers
Earlieron 20th August 2019,SCB Team led by Mr. Harbans Chhabra had studied the School's requirement and made the recommendations. Mrs. Usha Mani another member has agreed to monitor the progress of Students in this school covering from class 1 to 8. She is MSc in Chemistry and earlier was a teacher herself. She would support Teachers to 'Build a strong foundation of Character and Values Audio Visual Stories.
Other SCB Volunteers would expose young children to learn through experience by participating in Gardening / Drama / Singing / Working by hand - Arts & Crafts / Cleanliness / Health & Hygiene. These were the reasons why SCB was targeting Primary Schools first.
The additional 5 Smart Classes was inaugurated by Shree Seemanth Kumar Singh, IPS Central IGP, on 28th August 2019 in the Karnataka Public School.
These Smart Classes are sponsored by Senior Citizens Bangalore and is funded by Larsen & Toubro Limited.

We had organized scholarship award function at Government PU college, 13th cross, Domlur (near to Shanthi Sagar Hotel) on Wednesday 24th July 2019.
Chairman Mr. Lamba, Mr. Parthasarathy, Mr.K.D,Singh, Mr.G.S.Paranjyothi, and Mr. Alexander from S.C.B. along with the teachers and students of Domlur College and School participated in the function. It was good to see that the Hall was packed full and the Award recipients were well applauded for their performance.
Mr. Kamath welcomed the audience and briefly explained the history behind S.C.B's decision to participate in the Domlur School activities and also the decision to support the toppers with awards to meet their expenses towards fee and books. This should act as an incentive for others students to qualify for the same with better efforts. He congratulated the star performers Ayyanna 92%and Preethi 94% for their brilliant academic record and asked the other students to emulate them.
Mr. Parthasarathy and Mr. Lamba also addressed the students and advised them to perform better not only in studies but also with good behavior to become better citizens.
Scholarship cheques were then distributed to the delight of the recipients and were cheered and applauded by the participants.
The program ended with the thanks giving by Ayyanna on behalf of the students and by the Vice Principal Mr. Nagaraj on behalf of the Staff.

We thought of making this members meeting to show case the work by Senior Citizens Bangalore. Hence this month we had organized our Members meeting in the premises of Government PU college, 13th cross, Domlur (near to Shanthi Sagar Hotel). On Saturday 25th May 2019 at 11.00 am. Many of our members had attended this meeting along with school and college teachers..
We had invited one of our scholars Mr. Ayyanna who had scored 92% in 2nd PU exam in Arts section. He is the student whom we have been supporting him from school days. He is from a village and came from a very poor family . His wish is to study well and get a good job and to support his family. He thanked SCB for all the support extended to him.
We have organized Pooja in our new office on Saturday 4th May 2019.
Our Secretary, Dr. V.A.Sastry did the pooja along with our Chairman Mr. B.S.Lamba, Treasurer Mr. Kamal Deep Singh. Executive members like Mr. Bharat Sarronwala, Mr. M.S.Kamath, Mr. Paranjyothi, Mrs. Madhu Chakravarthy and Member Mr. Narasimhan also joined the pooja. The pooja was organized by Admn. A skill Training was organized by Senior Citizens Bangalore with the help of Mr. Narasimhan
On 1st April 2019, it was a good day for the students of 8th & 9th standard of Government High School, Domlur. A skill Training was organized by Senior Citizens Bangalore with the help of Mr. Narasimhan. Due to holidays Students showed their interest and participated in large numbers.
Our Secretary Dr.V.A.Sastry was also present and enjoyed with the students . Students showed more interest as they were trained both in English and Kannada Language.
This Training will be for 6 days
Dr. Sastry, Secretary made a nice presentation on the performance and achievements of SCB (Power point presentation is attached for ready perusal)
This was followed by talk by:
1. Mr. Arvind- a scholar of SCB who completed his Engineering
2. Mrs Remi - Principal of Sree Cauvery College.
3. Mrs Pamella - in charge of Humanitarian Transit Home.
This was followed by various games and a good lunch. Members participated, networked and enjoyed the afternoon.
Students Game Federation of India has selected the following three girls from Hosakote school this year.
This year 2018, ended with good luck to Government High School, Domlur. They have won Charan's PUC college Cricket Cup for the first time. Nearly 20 schools and college took part in this competition. Under the captainship of Master Eshwar and the bowler Master Praveen and the spirit of other players, it was possible to win this cup. This is indeed a great achievement for the School.

Science fest was organized in Government High School, Domlur on Thursday, 15th November 2018 from 10.00 a.m to 3.00 pm by Agastya International Foundation. Sponsored by L & T, Bangalore and Senior Citizens Bangalore. This fest was inaugurated jointly by Mr. Bhupinder Singh Lamba and Dr. V.A.Sastry.
Interesting topics were covered in this Science Fest by this school children with the help of staff and members of Agastya International Foundation and HM Mrs Ratna and Science Teachers.
The Staff and members of Agastya International foundation supplied all the materials and training to the students of this school, who in turn demonstrated the experiments to hundreds of other nearby school students who were invited for this fest. All the students enjoyed and learned the effects of science in our day to day life. Students who have done their best were given prizes .
Members of Senior Citizens Bangalore , Mr. Narasimhan and Mr. Alexander also attended this fest along with the Admn. Manager Mr. Vijay Pissay. Ms Mittali from L& T also joined this fest and appreciated the arrangement and interest shown by the students.
Dr.V.A.Sastry visited Government High School in Domlur during the month of October 2017 and was very much interested in doing some good to this school, so he discussed along with other members of the Senior Citizens Bangalore and decided to provide a Smart class to this school.
During December 20 17 Dr. Sastry informed that he has received a proposal and quote for setting up Smart class at Domlur Govt High School from a vendor M/s.Smart class Educational Services Pvt Ltd based in New Delhi. They have their branch office at Ulsoor, Bangalore. The Total cost is about Rs.575,000/-for 3 class rooms. He proposed to donate Rs.5.00 Lakhs from his own Trust "Vyakarnam Charitable Trust" , for this project.
Also he said we have to paint the class rooms, because all the class rooms were in shabby condition and to fix metal doors for security of our systems . He requested SCB to bare the balance cost for setting up the project. About Rs.1.50 lakhs may be approved for this project from SCB.
During, January 2018 we have taken permission from BEO for starting of Smart Class in this Govt High school, Domlur and in May 2018 Civil works on Smart Class Project was completed along with provision of Steel Doors for three class rooms .
In June 2018 A demonstration of the working and operation of the Smart Class equipment was done to the teachers.. Dr. Sastry and Mr. Paranajyothi joined this demonstration Program.
A formal opening of the SMART CLASS was done by Sri. B.H. Ashwath Narayanagowda Deputy Director of Public Instruction Bangalore south and Sri .K. Rameshaiah Block Education Officer Bangalore on 19th July 2018. in the presence of our Chairman Mr.B.S.Lamba , Treasurer Dr.V.A.Sastry , Mr. Kamath and Mr. Paranjyothi.

As the Chairman Mr. R. Parthasarathy and the Director in charge Mr. M.S.Kamath of Senior Citizens Bangalore were excited in distributing Uniforms to the students from Std 1 to Std VII.
Children and Staff welcomed our Chairman Mr. R .Parthasarathy and Mr. M.S.Kamth with loud applause. Headmistress Mrs. Arvekar felicitated Mr. R.Parthasarathy and Mr Kamath with shawl and Garland. Children sang a small Prayer. Then was there a speech by our Chairman followed by distribution of Uniforms.
Children were very happy and thanked Senior Citizens for their kind gesture. HM and staff also thanked Senior Citizens and requested their kind support in future also.
The function ended with tea and snacks to all.
