““Go, get education. Be self-reliant, be industrious. Work, gather wisdom and riches.” ” — Savitribai Phule
Education is the only passport that never expires
Children in our programs come from low-income households. Their parents are construction and domestic workers, security guards, vegetable vendors, auto drivers, and farmers. Many are first-generation learners whose circumstances compel them to work before attending school.
Education can open paths to go beyond the limitations of circumstance. One educated child often inspires an entire community to aspire to higher learning. Through education, these children are able to build lives of dignity, confidence, and possibility, and to pull their families out of adverse economic conditions.
What We Do

SFC MERIT SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM
Six thousand students later, we know this works.
Capable students from low-income families are unable to pursue higher education due to financial constraints. We provide scholarships for the full tenure of higher education — from Pre-University through to PhD — for students graduating from our two feeder schools: Domlur Secondary School in urban Bengaluru and Government Girls High School in Hoskote, rural Bengaluru.
- 150 students supported annually
- 120 students qualify each year from two feeder schools
- Scholarships cover colleges across urban and rural Bangalore
- Support can extend to PhD level for promising students
- 6,000+ students supported since inception
The scholarship alone is not enough. Our Mentoring Scholars Project builds employability alongside financial support, covering spoken English, public speaking, CV writing, interview skills, career counseling, and placement support.
Over 6,000 scholarship recipients have become role models in their communities, lifting their families out of adverse economic conditions. Some have come together to fund scholarships for students who come after them.

SFC MODEL SCHOOL PROGRAM
The best investment in higher education starts in primary school.
Government primary schools do not have adequate teaching resources to prepare children for academic success. Without a strong foundation, children fall behind early and rarely recover.
We provide enhanced learning in 2 government primary schools, impacting about 250 children through supplementary Math and English classes, computer education, and extra and co-curricular activities for all-round education and personality development. Since 2022, Appareddypalya and Doopanahalli Government Primary Schools are being transformed into model institutions. Graduates from these schools feed into Domlur Government Higher Secondary School and qualify for SFC Merit Scholarships, a pipeline that did not exist for them before 2022.
- 250 children impacted annually
- Remedial teaching in language and arithmetic
- Yoga for self-regulation and discipline
- Co-curricular activities for personality development
- Infrastructure: libraries, science labs, computer labs, clean drinking water, clean toilets
250 children 2 schools Since 2022

Decades of experience on one side. Ambition and ability on the other. When the two meet, this is what happens.
“Your support came at such an important time and made a big difference.”
Eshappa had the ability to go further. A completed BCA, a clear ambition to pursue his MCA — and no way to fund it. His mother worked as a construction laborer. One scholarship changed the trajectory of his life.
Today: Earning Rs. 30,000 per month. A future he built on his own terms.
Eshappa, Merit Scholarship recipient
“I am proud to be the first graduate in my entire family.”
Clement was completing his B.Com when his family faced a financial crisis. Working in retail to fund his studies, he nearly dropped out when his mother needed surgery. His principal approached Dr. Meenakshi Shivram, who extended an SFC Merit Scholarship. Clement completed his final year — and went on to build a career he had only once dared to imagine.
Today: Senior Operations Executive, Flipkart. First graduate in his family.
